Woman recovering after being attacked by man with a knife in Niles
NILES, Mich. -- Niles Police are investigating a stabbing that happened in the area of Silverbrook Avenue and S. 15th Street in Niles Wednesday afternoon.
The incident was reported at 3:22 p.m.
Police Chief James Millin said a 36-year-old woman was in the area of 15th and Silverbrook, near the wood line, when she was attacked from behind by a white male.
She said she received a cut to her left arm and chest.
After she exited the woods, a citizen passing by stopped to help her and called 9-1-1.
The victim was taken to a hospital in Indiana.
Police said the only description they have of the suspect is a white male wearing a bandana.
A knife was recovered from the area where the incident occurred.
The victim's injuries were not severe and she is expected to make a full recovery.
The investigation is ongoing.
