Police investigating string of robberies on South Bend’s west side

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police Department is investigating a string of robberies at businesses on South Bend’s west side.

Lacopo’s Pizzeria saw a recent break-in where a TV was stolen, and a floral shop down the street was confirmed to have been robbed in the same style in the past week.

In addition, the Lord’s House of Shepherds Church, which is next door to Lacopo’s, was also hit last winter.

Some business owners are worried that the growing homeless population could be linked to the recent burglaries, citing the Motels4Now program at the nearby Knights Inn.

Both robberies are being investigated, and police have not named any suspects.
