Police investigating ‘suspicious death’ of 8-year-old

ST. JOSEPH, Mich. -- The St. Joseph Department of Public Safety is investigating the suspicious death of an 8-year-old.
Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Columbia Avenue for reports of an 8-year-old who was deceased around 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The Michigan State Police Crime Lab was contacted to process the scene.
An autopsy will be conducted at the Western Michigan University Striker Hospital.
Police said it was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community.
