Police investigating threats against Penn High School

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Police are investigating possible threats made against Penn High School off Bittersweet Road in Mishawaka.

Investigators are trying to determine if a Penn High School student was serious about trying to harm students and staff at the school.

Tuesday afternoon, students riding a bus overheard a conversation that concerned them, so they told their parents. The parents then contacted the school.

A resource officer followed up on the concerns by going to the student’s house.

There, police say they discovered concerning items in the student’s room but won’t say what they found.

The student has been suspended pending a threat assessment by the JJC.
