KNOX, Ind. -- Knox Police say 37-year-old Barbara McCurdy has been found deceased.
She was found in her car at the Braun Car Dealership in Winamac on Friday.
ABC57 News spoke with a witness off-camera, who explained how the shocking discovery was made.
He explained that Friday, a woman was sitting in the lobby of the dealership, reading about McCurdy's disappearance in the newspaper.
The woman apparently read aloud, how she was last seen in her black Chevy Cobalt.
That's when, apparently, an employee overheard, and remembered how the dealership had the same car, out back in the lot.
The employee decided to check it out, and found McCurdy slumped over in the passenger seat, dead.
McCurdy was last seen on January 14th and was reported missing on January 20.
ABC57 News stopped by McCurdy's former workplace, the Zip Thur Mart in Knox, to check in with her former co-workers.
They said they were numb and in shock, and will truly miss a member of their family.
The Pulaski County Coroner was on scene and has ordered an autopsy and toxicology.
The Indiana State Police Department has been called to assist the investigation.
