Police offer advice after a string of robberies

25-year-old Richard Lima was arrested Sunday after an alleged crime spree.

Police say he robbed the Hampton Inn in South Bend, a drive-thru convenience store in Mishawaka and two Pokemon Go players in Battell Park.

Last week, Mishawaka police warned Pokemon Go players to stay vigilant.

“We want you to make sure that you’re gonna enjoy this game but we also want to make sure you’re safe,” said Lieutenant Tim Williams, Mishawaka Police Department.

He offered advice to not only the community, but business owners as well.

“Make sure that your you know outside of your business anytime of day that you have it well groomed you know a lot of times if we have shrubbery that’s overgrown that’s a place for people to hide, so we want to make sure that we’re safe,” Lieutenant Williams said.

Lima is currently being held at the St. Joseph County jail on a $10,000 bond.
