UPDATE: One killed, one injured in shooting off Logan near Jefferson

UPDATE: As of 11:24pm--One person is dead, another is in the hospital after a shooting near the intersection of Logan and Jefferson.

Police do not believe there are any threats to public safety. The South Bend Police Violent Crimes Unit is investigating and the name of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification. 

ORIGINAL: SOUTH BEND, Ind -- The public is being asked to avoid the area near the 300 block of South Logan Street in South Bend. 

South Bend Police are responding to a shooting reported in the area.
