Police release name of driver killed in crash on M139
BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Police have released the name of the driver who was killed in a crash on M139 Monday morning.
Berrien Springs-Oronoko Township Police were called to M139 and Hinchman Road around 11:20 a.m. for a three vehicle crash.
A northbound pickup truck collided with a Toyota Corolla, which was also headed northbound on M139.
The Corolla was pushed into the southbound lanes and collided with a Ford transit van headed southbound.
Police said the driver of the Toyota, 61-year-old Karen Lou Johns, was pronounced deceased at Memorial Hospital.
The driver of the van suffered minor injuries.
There were seven passengers in the van at the time of the crash. Several of the passengers suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
The pickup driver did not sustain any injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
