Police release new details in SWAT standoff on Lincolnway West

Randall Thurman was arrested on a federal warrant for a weapons offense. State charges are pending

Cameron Perkins was arrested for carrying a handgun without a license and resisting law enforcement.

Rachel Stuff was arrested on a warrant for neglect of a dependent.

Tommy Rans was arrested on a warrant for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and conversion.

Imani Wilson was arrested for disorderly conduct.

South Bend Police have released new details in the SWAT standoff on Lincolnway West Tuesday afternoon.

The South Bend Police Strategic Focus Unit and Mishawaka Police Department were looking for someone wanted on a warrant in the 700 block of Lincolnway West. They saw the wanted person leaving a residence with another person and they both appeared to be armed, police said.

Police approached the two men, but they both ran from the scene.

One was apprehended and the other ran into a nearby home.

Police obtained a search warrant in regards to the person who ran into the house.

With the County Metro SWAT and negotiators, the person finally surrendered a couple of hours after the standoff began.

Police said five people were arrested on preliminary charges. They also recovered two handguns and drug related evidence.
