Police respond to unresponsive child in Benton Township

Benton Township Police are investigating after a child was found deceased in a home Wednesday.
Berrien County Dispatch put out a Priority Call of an unresponsive child at a home in Benton Township Wednesday, December 14th. Police responded to a home in the 1400 block of Rose Avenue around 12:52 p.m.
When Benton Township Police and a Medic1 responded, they found a seven week old child deceased.
A medical exam, on December 15th, showed the cause of death to be S.I.D.S, Sudden Infant Death Syndorme and police say there were no signs of apparent foul play.
The report will be sent to the Berrien County Prosecutor's Office for review. No other detail have been released.
