Police search for fugitive hiding in sewer

Police in Austin, Texas are searching for a man they say severely beat another man in a drainage tunnel.

The attack happened August 15.

Since then, police have discovered the fugitive's underground camp, where they say he lived for more than two years.

Police say 45-year-old Russel Roland was hiding out under a heavily populated part of the city.

Down in the sewer, they say they found a kitchen-area, workout equipment, pictures, maps, and knives.

Along with those items, police found animal bones and fake skulls. Investigators say they even found a raft that Roland, also known as "Thor," may have been trying to escape with.

Peter Dennis of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force says as of now, the victim is still in intensive care in a coma, and his injuries are still considered life-threatening.
