Police search for person who climbed Mackinac Bridge tower

ST. IGNACE, Mich. (AP) — Authorities are looking for someone who boldly climbed to the top of a Mackinac Bridge tower, took pictures and later posted them on social media.

The incident apparently occurred in early November.

Alarms were triggered hours apart, but no one was caught. The Mackinac Bridge Authority calls it "inexcusably reckless."

State police say the climber could face a felony trespassing charge.

The Mackinac Bridge connects Michigan's two peninsulas over the Straits of Mackinac.

The Transportation Department says the climber put his or her life at risk as well as the lives of others.
