Police searching for suspect in early morning chase near Grissom Middle School

UPDATE: Abraham is currently being held at the St. Joseph County Jail, according to the South Bend Police Department. 

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - Police officers are currently trying to find a suspect in an early-morning chase in St. Joseph County that ended near Grissom Middle School. 

The chase started around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning when officers with the Mishawaka Police Department were trying to catch Dustin Abraham in connection with a vehicle arson, Mishawaka Police said.

The St. Joseph County and South Bend police departments got involved once the chase entered their territory. 

Officers say that after driving the vehicle into a ditch near the school, Abraham abandoned the vehicle and ran away. 

County officers are still trying to find him but say there is no danger to the area. 

Abraham is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 165 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. 

If you see him, do not approach him but instead call 911 or a local police agency, Mishawaka Police said.
