Police seeking information on driver who hit vehicle, gas line

ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart Police are asking for the public's help locating a driver who hit another vehicle and a gas line causing approximately $75,000 in damage.

The crash happened Monday, December 4 around 3:45 p.m. in the 2300 block of Johnson Street.

Employees told police they heard the crash and went outside to investigate.

The driver of a white Ford conversion van struck a company owned vehicle, the building and a NIPSCO gas meter.

When the employees tried to see if the driver was okay, he drove away from the scene.

The van was driven by a white male in his 60s with gray hair and a gray beard. The white Ford van with a temporary plate sustained front end damage in the crash.
