Police: suspect arrested in stolen vehicle chase across state lines
UPDATE: The man involved in the chase, identified as 45-year-old Darrell Goodwin of South Bend, died in the hospital on September 19, according to the Berrien County Sheriff's Office.

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. - One person was arrested Thursday evening for leading law enforcement on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle from St. Joseph County, Indiana, to Berrien County, according to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect’s name is not being released at this time.
According to the investigation, the pursuit began when officers with the South Bend Police Department tried to stop a stolen vehicle.
The driver instead continued into Michigan, where he eventually hit another vehicle on South 11th Street, north of State Line Road, law enforcement reported.
After hitting that vehicle, the driver lost control, crashed into a traffic sign and ran from the scene, reports said.
An officer tased the man, and he was taken to the hospital for treatment.
No one else was injured.
