Police: Weather conditions, intoxication played role in rollover crash

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says weather conditions and intoxication contributed to a vehicle rollover in Elkhart County Saturday evening.

According to the release, on Jan. 12 a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling east on S.R. 120 east of S.R. 13 at approximately 11:31 p.m.

Offiicers say the 18-year-old driver failed to reduce speed, sliding off the south end of the roadway and rolling twice.

Officials say weather conditions played a role in the crash. Elkhart County was under a winter weather advisory on Saturday.

The driver, 18-year-old Lance Lennen of Fremont, Indiana was transported to Parkview LaGrange Hospital for hand pain.

Seatbelts were worn at the time of the crash, according to the release.

Officers say Lennon was found to be driving while intoxicated.
