Police: Woman who caused deadly car accident could face jail time

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- A 44-year-old woman who prosecutors say caused a deadly car accident could go to jail for 15 years.

In October, authorities say Cecilia Cheney slammed head on into a family of four from Mishawaka.  A 22-month-old baby was among those victims.

The fiery crash happened on U.S. 12 in Cass County.

Now ABC 57 has learned the original charges against Cheney were dropped so prosecutors could seek harsher ones.

We spoke with Cass County's top attorney and he said they are now looking to charge her with four felony counts of involuntary manslaughter.
