Pop-up shops set to open

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Friday nine new businesses will open in downtown South Bend.

The businesses are part of the downtown South Bend Pop-Up Shop Program where businesses can open up for the holiday shopping season at no cost.

Nine businesses were selected for this years program and they all excited about their grand-opening on First Friday.

"It's wonderful," said Kathy Richardson of Gifted. "It's a way to test the waters and see if you're really interested in having a store downtown."

The pop-up shops will open Friday afternoon.

The stores will be open until Dec. 29.
