Portable heater likely cause of deadly fire

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. — Fire officials believe that the fire that claimed the life of a Kosciusko County man likely started in the basement.
Investigators said the waterlines froze and someone used a portable heater to thaw the pipes. The heater may have sparked the fire.
The man killed in the fire has yet to be identified.
