SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Potawatomi Pool in South Bend will be closed for the summer, and perhaps longer.
Foundational issues were discovered by pool staff, prompting the South Bend Venue Parks and Arts department to initiate the shutdown.
There is currently no timeline on when the pool will reopen.
Nine splash pads remain open throughout South Bend, and the Kennedy Water Playground’s hours will be extended in response to the Potawatomi closing, with the playground now open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Additionally, the summer parks season will be extended all the way through Labor Day.
