Potawatomi Zoo announces 2022 Winter Days
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Missing warm summer days at the zoo? While summer isn’t here just yet, you can still enjoy a day at the zoo during Potawatomi Zoo’s Winter Days, beginning this month.
The zoo will be open on January 8 and 23, February 5 and 20, and March 5 and 20.
Zoo hours are noon to 3 p.m. during these days.
“We open the Zoo for Winter Days to give our Zoo members and community the chance to see the Zoo in a different way,” says Josh Sisk, executive director of the Zoo. “Some animals really prefer the colder weather and behave very differently in winter.”
Winter Days are free for zoo members with photo ID, $6.50 for ages 15 to 61, and $5.50 for ages 3 to 14 and ages 62 and older.
Kids ages two and under are free.
The Potawatomi Express train will be running, weather permitting. Tickets are $3 per rider for those over age 2.
Attraction passes can be used at Winter Days.
The Endangered Species Carousel is closed during the winter.
The Learning Center, gift shop, and some concessions will be open during Winter Days.
Changes in Winter Days, including cancellations, will be posted on the zoo’s Facebook page and website.
