SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- While the economy may be showing some signs of improvement, it's still taking its toll on people's pets.
The Humane Society of South Bend said people are still coming in and dropping off dogs and cats because they can't afford to care for them.
On Friday, we learned that, just recently, someone dropped off pets because they had just been evicted from their home.
This weekend, the Humane Society is running an adoption special on older dogs.
