Power outages affecting St. Joseph County

At approximately 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, people in certain areas of St. Joseph County began to lose power.

Indiana Michigan Power says the outage was contained to the Southwest side of South Bend and affected around 1,000 customers. 

At approximately 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, and outage affecting 3,500 customers in Granger occurred. 

The power was restored to the southwest side of South Bend around 11:30 a.m. Power was restored to the Granger area around 12:00 p.m.

Officials say the outage in Granger was caused by a tree limb falling onto power lines.

Service technicians are trying to determine the cause of the outage in South Bend.
