Power outages still under restoration in Northern Indiana after overnight storms

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – Many South Bend and Elkhart residents are still out of power Saturday, Indiana Michigan Power reports.

After storms on Friday night, power outages were seen throughout both St. Joseph and Elkhart County.

Over 6,400 people are still without power on Saturday evening despite restoration of power to 60 percent of homes.

85 to 95 percent of power is planned to be restored by 11 p.m. Saturday in both South Bend and Elkhart.

Indiana Michigan Power says they plan to have all power restored no later than 11 p.m. Sunday.

I am surprised none of the news channels followed the story along Day Rd in Mishawaka that had several homes with uprooted trees. Some strong winds caused severe damage especially to the Jeffrey drive neighborhood.
