Powerball gives away free chances at winning

INDIANAPOLIS - This weekend's Powerball jackpot is a whopping $214 million and some Hoosiers are getting an early chance at winning.

The Hoosier Lottery once again gave away free Powerball tickets. This time it was at the Dinner Bell in Indianapolis.

People lined up early Sunday morning and the first 214 players were given free tickets.

Players know the chances of winning are slim but they say its worth taking a chance.

"Nobody can pay their bills anymore. It's bad. I mean look, Hostess is shutting down now so that's that many more people that don't have jobs."

This is the fifth time this year that the Powerball jackpot has jumped over the $200 million mark.
