ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.— A prayer vigil will be held at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center in South Bend on Dec. 3 for a 16-year-old who was shot and killed two months ago.
Community members will come together tonight to remember Fredrick Williams, who was shot and killed in South Bend on Oct. 17.
Police officers found Fredrick Williams dead with a gunshot wound inside a vehicle that was stopped along North Brookfield Street in South Bend. Those officers tried to save his life but were unable to. Williams died at the scene.
Now, more than a month and a half later, still more questions than answers about who pulled the trigger. Prosecutors tell ABC57 there are still no arrests or charges in this case. If you have any information, you are asked to contact the police.
Tonight’s vigil begins at 5:30. It will be on the north end of the parking lot at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center.
