Prevent pipes from freezing in cold weather

Michiana is blanketed with snow and single digit temperatures are filling the area.
Since winter is not over yet, your home needs to handle the brutal cold.
If the water in your pipes gets cold enough, the water inside can freeze, causing it to expand and possibly burst. This is an expensive fix, but it is preventable.
To keep this from happening to your home, keep your faucet funning at a trickle to keep the water moving.
If you plan on leaving your home for an extended period of time, keep the thermostat above 55 degrees.
