Prosecutor files charges against St. Joseph County sheriff for February crash

KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. - The Kalamazoo County Prosecutor's Office filed charges against St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark Lillywhite, who is accused of driving while intoxicated before a crash on February 26, according to WZZM.

According to reports, Lillywhite was driving south on U.S. 131 when he rear-ended a vehicle traveling in the same direction.

The impact caused both vehicles to lose control and run off the road.

Lillywhite faces charges for one count of operating while intoxicated and one count of carrying a concealed weapon while under the influence of alcohol.

The charges, both misdemeanors, could send Lillywhite to jail for up to 93 days if convicted.
