Public invited to Veterans Walkway Memorial grand opening in Mishawaka

MISHAWAKA, Ind. - The public is invited to the grand opening and dedication of the new Veterans Walkway Memorial in the Battell Park Veterans Memorial Plaza in Mishawaka.

Mishawaka Mayor Dave Wood will lead the ceremony, unveiling the newly constructed walkway and dedicating it in honor of our veterans.

The walkway will stretch westward from the Soldiers and Sailors Monument.

City officials say the new Veterans Walkway was built to honor all fallen soldiers who served in every war since the revolutionary war.

The memorial features an eternal flame, a symbol of everlasting gratitude and respect.

Officials add the flame also signifies the continuous acknowledgment of our veterans' courage and dedication, ensuring that their contributions are never forgotten.

The grand opening is on Saturday, May 25, at 9 a.m., at 301 W Mishawaka Ave. in Mishawaka.
