Rain chances stick around for Father's Day and Monday

NOW: Rain chances stick around for Father’s Day and Monday
NEXT:

For the first time in about a week, showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast across Michiana later tonight. Spots west of US-31 have the best chance of seeing overnight thunderstorms. Rainfall won't amount to much, as the air is too dry for many of the showers to sustain themselves. Severe weather is also not expected. Otherwise, skies will be mostly cloudy with temperatures dipping into the upper 60s.

Scattered thunderstorms are possible on Father's Day as well. While some showers are possible during the morning hours, the most likely time for storms will be in the early afternoon. Highs will sink into the lower 80s on Sunday. We'll be near 90 again on Monday, with showers and thunderstorms firing up again in the afternoon. Michiana's best opportunity for much-needed significant rain will be Monday night. Showers will wrap up early Tuesday morning, setting up a cooler and partly cloudy day overall. Temperatures will reach the upper 70s Tuesday and hover around 80 degrees Wednesday and Thursday as well with mostly sunny skies.

Tonight: Storms possible overnight, especially across western Michiana. Low 68.

Father's Day Sunday: Showers/storms possible. High 83.

Monday: Afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Widespread showers/storms possible at night. High 88.

Tuesday: Showers early, then partly cloudy and cooler. High 78.
