Rain hurts North Carolina farmers

WOSOGRWAN COUNTY, N.C. -- North Carolina farmers are being hit hard by summer rains.

Farming is a $73 billion industry for the Tarheel State but the weather is making it hard to feed their animals.

Farmers say the rains will not let up long enough for farmers to dry and cut the hay for cows.

"If we have to sell cattle because we can't feed them, there will be less cattle in North Carolina. It will eventually make the prices go up," said farmer Myra Morrison.

Farmers say they are about 800 hay bales short of what they need to feed their cows.

Agriculture experts say they need at least week of dry weather to make up for the loses.
