PULASKI COUNTY, Ind. -- In Pulaski County, roads and parking lots are completely covered in flood water, and with more rain possible overnight Tuesday, this could get even worse.
There are many roads and parking lots in the area that are just unpassable.
The main message for those driving out here tonight is to turn around and don't drown.
Flood waters on the roads may actually be deeper than it looks.
Cars making their way through the town of Winamac, through literal waves in the street!
People having to slow down to 15, sometimes even 10 miles per hour during the worst parts of the storm earlier Tuesday.
The rains in Pulaski County have been relentless over the last 24 hours.
Radar estimates show areas from Bass Lake, to Winamac, to Star City picking up 8 to 10 inches of rain in the past 24 hours.
Those same areas got six inches of rain on Tuesday.
ABC57 spoke to one person who came to Winamac for work, and tried to drive through these conditions, before the powerful stormwater tore a mudflap off of his car!
"I figured you know what, it's probably not that big of a deal, and then at some point, I felt it, where it wasn't just the wheels but also the bumper was making contact, you look out the side, the window, and you almost see this little wake that your car is making, where it's acting more like a boat than it is a car, and then it started making a noise. Pulled over, looked underneath, once I got to somewhere shallow enough that I could step out of the car without going swimming, and that's when I found out that whole flap that covers the bottom of the car, the water just ripped it out," said Kumar Balasingam, who works in Berrien Springs, but came to Winamac for work today.
