Rainy, cold, breezy Monday morning; dry and mild afternoon

This morning is rainy and breezy as you are out the door. Temperatures are starting in the mid 30s, so expect a cold, unpleasant feeling rain.

A few of our Michigan counties could see slushy snow this morning, although impacts look low.

Others are seeing some thunderstorms this morning. Some storms are strong, but not severe, this morning early, and are producing some hail. Stay indoors while these storms are happening.

Be aware that you could find some ponding on roads this morning. Rain becomes more scattered as the morning goes on, with most drying out after 9 a.m.

The afternoon is a different weather story: dry and mild. It stays breezy today.

Tonight we’ll drop into the mid 30s again.

Tuesday is another wet day. Precipitation tomorrow morning starts as snow showers, and we could briefly see snow accumulate on the ground, before melting as precipitation turns to rain in the afternoon.

Brief heavy snowbursts or downpours of rain are possible in the afternoon, which will cause low visibility on roads. We’ll continue to watch for any flooding concerns as we get into Tuesday.

The rest of the week looks dry, with a chance for snow showers and cooler temperatures on New Year’s Day.
