ELKHART, Ind. -- Nappanee Public Library has announced a Summer Reading Challenge: Reading Roundup, sponsored in part by the Friends of the Nappanee Public Library, R. Yoder Construction, Intech Trailers, Thingamabaubles, and Newmar. 

The reading challenge begins Monday, June 2, and concludes Monday, July 14. Reading Roundup is open to all ages, and no library card is required. 

People participating in the challenge can read any book they like and can track their reading to earn different prizes. The goal of Reading Roundup is to read 1,000 minutes to receive a certificate for one free popcorn and a slushy from The Dutch Kernel or a mason jar mug. 

There is also an opportunity to get tickets and win a grand prize such as a Blackstone griddle, Nintendo Switch Lite, a Squishmallow, different gift cards, and more. 

Programs for the whole family will run throughout the summer.

The Summer Reading kickoff party will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, June 2, at the Nappanee Public Library. Sign up for the challenge at the party and grab a free Kona Ice while supplies last. 

Enjoy decorating ceramic pieces from Joyfully Made Pottery and Soaporium, first come, first served. Play different games and grab a reading log to kick off the Reading Roundup.
