Recall issued for hummus products distributed in US, UAE

A recall has been issued for certain hummus products made by Pita Pal Foods, LP distributed in the U.S. and the United Arab Emirates due to Listeria monocytogenes concerns, according to the FDA.

The products were packaged between May 30 and June 25, 2019 and could contain the food-borne pathogen known to cause serious and sometimes deadly infections especially in the immuno-compromised, pregnant, elderly and young.

Consumers who believe they may have purchased a tainted batch are urged to throw out the product or return it for a refund.

Questions regarding the recall can be directed by email to [email protected] or by calling 832-803-9295.
