Registration open for kids summer fire camp
SOUTH BEND, Ind. — A summer fire camp hosted by Clay Fire Department hopes to inspire the next generation of paramedics and firefighters.
The hands-on camp allows children to experience what firefighters and paramedics do on a regular basis through training involving mock fires and rescue situations.
The cost is $50 for children 10-13 years old.
Camp dates are set for June 17-21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
Organizers say campers will learn lifesaving skills as well as the importance of teamwork and responsibility.
Registration is limited to 30 applicants with priority given to new campers.
Registration can be found here.
A camp consent form can be completed and returned with payment to Clay Fire Summer Camp located at 18355 Auten Rd. in South Bend.
