US Congresswoman Jackie Walorski, R-District 2, visited with 5th and 6th graders at Hums Elementary on Wednesday.
Rep. Walorski spoke with students about her role in government and what she does day-to-day.
She also spoke about the importance of education and public schools.
“Knowing that we’ve got quality public schools, I’m a product of public education, so is my husband, and we support the value of public schools and the chance for everybody in this country and everybody in our district to have their shot at the American dream, and that’s what this whole thing is about," Walorski said.
The students told Rep. Walorski about their life goals and what they appreciate most about school.
Rep. Walorski's husband is a music teacher at Hums Elementary.
