Repairs underway on downtown South Bend traffic light

Repairs are underway for the traffic light at the corner of Colfax and St. Joseph in downtown South Bend.

The traffic light was damaged in January when a truck hit it during bad weather.

The state contracted out the repair because of extensive damage to the concrete base, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.

Repairs began Monday and are expected to wrap up Tuesday or early Wednesday.

The repairs cost approximately $8,300.
