Residents in Missouri town getting flamingo bombed

RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Mo. (CNN) -- A Missouri neighborhood is dealing with a real head-scratcher -- who is behind all the pink flamingos?

The plastic birds showed up in one yard of a Richmond Heights neighborhood, then another, then another.

One neighbor was upset about being flamingo-bombed because she doesn't like pink, so she painted hers blue.

Homeowners spoke to police at a meeting Wednesday about the mystery.

An officer joked that a stakeout might be needed to catch the culprit.

Neighbors are thinking of having a "Dress your flamingo contest" and hope the culprit will take the opportunity to come clean.
