Restaurant owner finds $100,000 cash in backpack

A California restaurant owner found a mysterious bag in his store and wants to return it to its owner.

Burger King owner Altaf Chaus opened the bag and discovered $100,000.

The assistant manager was the first to spot the blue backpack that was abandoned in a booth.

Hoping to find some identification, Chaus opened the bag.

“I open the zipper, I see lots of money, cash money. $100 bills stack up like half the bag. I said, ‘Wow! Today's my birthday, this is my birthday gift,'” says Chaus.

That thought, however, was only fleeting.

He immediately called police officers who came to the restaurant and searched the rest of the bag and discovered marijuana inside.

They are trying to find the owner of the bag.
