SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Studebaker fountain has been restored and will be re-dedicated Sunday, August 25 by the city of South Bend at Leeper Park.
This 113-year-old fountain took three years for its restoration process, initially dedicated and commissioned by John Studebaker.
A documentary has been put together to capture the process of restoration and to share the story behind the fountain.
"It’s a one hour story about the fountain, how it came to be, where it went and how’s it’s been redirected now. So it’s a really interesting story with a lot of twists and turns and some unexpected areas that we go into. It’s just a beautiful story,” Brenda Bowyer, producer at WNIT, said.
To support the fountain and its maintenance further, an engraved brick can be purchased for the fountain by supporters.
