MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- On Thursday, the town of Bourbon held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated sports center at the Bourbon Community Park.
Officials says the previous park needed serious renovations.
The community, along with sponsors, raised over $60,000 to add new asphalt, stands, basketball hoops and fencing along with a new addition to the park: a pickleball court.
"I just want to thank everyone. This has been a community project. It's been a community fundraising project and the people of Bourbon responded overwhelmingly and it's a great community and they take care of their community, and these courts are just a symbol of how much they love and take care of their community," said President of Bourbon County Council, Ward Byres.
