Rollover crash in Berrien County leaves one injured

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – Deputies responded to a rollover collision near a swamp on Saturday at 8:29 p.m., Berrien County Sheriff’s Office said.

The driver, a 29-year-old man out of Watervliet, was transported to a local hospital for serious, possibly life-threatening injuries, according to deputies

When deputies arrived, they discovered a 2002 white Pontiac car off of Meadowbrook Road. The car allegedly was traveling too fast, when the driver lost control and went off the road, deputies said. The car collided with deep mud and small trees, tipping the car partly over, according to deputies.

A seatbelt was not worn at the time of the collision, deputies said. Speed also seems to be a factor in the crash, the report said.

At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol are a factor in the crash, according to deputies. This crash remains under investigation.
