Firefighters extinguish fire at Rum Village Park, park remains closed

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Rum Village Park was shut down because of a field fire Wednesday afternoon.
The fire started around 2 p.m. and burned approximately 2.5 acres.
There were no injuries.
Firefighters extinguished the fire using a tanker truck and brush truck.
The park will remain closed for the rest of the day Wednesday.
The park reopened Thursday.
