Runners participate in Notre Dame's Father Ted race

SOUTH BEND — The Blue and Gold game festivities ended with Father Ted's 5k and 10k race.

The sixth annual race kicked off at 10 Sunday morning in front of the Jordan Hall of Science.

Runners got a tour of campus as they hit the pavement to raise money for local youth's education.

Rev. Theodore Hesburg, also known as Father Ted, helped bring the Trio program to the University in the 1960s.
