MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The Saint Joseph Health System has teamed up with the Saint Joseph County Board of Commissioners to move their testing site for COVID-19 to the much more spacious St. Joseph County 4-H Fairgrounds.

This new location will begin accepting people for tests beginning December 7th and is a state testing site. This means the State Health Department will text or email test results.

The current location for testing is in southern Mishawaka where officials say can be troublesome.

“At our current testing location near Bodnar Boulevard and Elm Road, we have only one testing lane and traffic would occasionally back up onto county roadways. The fairgrounds allow us to route those waiting in line within the fairgrounds property, increasing overall safety. Also, we can offer two testing lanes at the fairgrounds, improving efficiency, decreasing wait times and increasing the overall number of tests that we can do each day,” said Chris Karam, president of SJHS Mishawaka Medical Center.

Covered drive-thru testing will happen outside the Esther Singer building near Ironwood and Jackson Roads.

Entering the fairgrounds must be done through Gate 1 located on Ironwood.

Registration for a test is required and must be done beforehand by visiting this website and entering 46614 as the zip code when prompted.

Testing hours are as follows:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8 am – 4 pm
  • Tuesday, Thursday: 11 am – 7 pm
  • Saturday: 8 am – 1 pm
  • Sunday: Closed
