Local health provider helping community stay caught up on health screenings

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Saint Joseph Health System has innovated a new approach to healthcare by partnering with local businesses to give employees access to the mobile medical unit (MMU) in an effort to raise awareness of breast cancer and prevent employees from missing work to consider preventative care.

The partnership provides health services like on the go mammograms, health screenings, and corporate wellness programs locally, including St. Joseph and Marshall counties.

Angie Wagner with Saint Joseph Health System will be on site and ready to make your 15-minute mammogram appointment easy and accessible.

“At the mobile medical unit, we can do your first baseline history mammogram at the age of 35. You should start having yearly mammograms at the age of 40 and you have to make sure you wait that full twelve months and one day in between your exams for insurance purposes,” said Wagner.

The unit will utilize the same equipment, personal history questionnaire and billing procedures that are used at local hospitals.

To schedule a mammogram at the Paqui and Brian Kelly CBC, call 574-335-4500 (toll free 1-888-455-4450) or schedule online.

If you want the mobile medical unit to be a resource for the employees at your office, you can also contact the number above for more information to reserve a spot for your local business.
