MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Staff members of the NICU at Saint Joseph Hospital threw a circus-themed party Sunday to reunite with the babies of families they have assisted with in the past.
Dr. Muhammad Ansari says it's special for nurses and doctors to see the babies they had a hand in delivering grow up.
"It kind of helps them, but also from our perspective, like, you know, we and we see our ex-patients who are like babies that were in the NICU and now they're running around, and they are joyful and smiling and talking," says Dr. Ansari. "It kind of helps us to do better in the future."
Doctors and nurses dressed up as circus characters and kids were able to play games, get their faces painted, and even enjoy some tasty treats.
