Salvation Army deploys mobile feeding kitchen to storm damaged La Porte County
Salvation Army LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The Salvation Army has deployed an EDS mobile feeding kitchen to storm damaged neighborhoods in and around La Porte County as of Wednesday night, with plans for it to be out and about Thursday.
Besides the mobile kitchen. The Salvation Army has set up a centralized feeding site at the Portage High School Field House at 6450 E Highway 6, which will run from 4-8 p.m. CT, Wednesday.
The centralized site will offer dinner, snacks, water, and charging stations.
On Thursday, the site will be open from 8 a.m.-2 p.m., CT.
Between 300 and 400 meals will be served Wednesday night between Porter and La Porte Counties, officials said.
The Salvation Army encourages residents to prioritize safety and to follow guidance from local authorities.
