Salvation Army Family Store to close its doors Saturday
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Salvation Army Thrift Store will close its doors tomorrow for the last time after around 3 years of servicing the community.
Many customers have been regulars here since it opened.
From clothes, to furniture, to household items and decorations, you could always find it all at the Family Store.
In an effort to clear out the remaining inventory, all clothing and miscellaneous items left in the store are being sold for just 25 cents, while furniture is still priced as marked.
Customers are able to grab a cart full of clothes and other items for just a few dollars.
For those who have been shopping here for years, the doors may close, but the memories are still there.
“There was a My Chemical Romance t-shirt and back when I was very much into My Chemical Romance, that was the first time I found something I really liked at a thrift store and it was here”, says Aoife O’Brien, a South Bend resident.
After growing so close, the employees here hope to have the chance to still work together as the KROC Center is working on relocating them so hopefully no one is totally out of a job.
Not only were the employees close, but they also grew close to some of the customers who became regulars over the years.
If you’re hoping to get one last look at the staple before they close, make sure you make it in early tomorrow since the store will close at 4:30P.M. for the last time ahead of the Notre Dame home game against University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
